Description
Atlas Copco XAMS 287 is a sound-insulated, single-stage, oil-injected rotary compressor designed for a nominal effective working pressure of 8.6 bar.
The compressor features two screw-type rotors mounted on ball and roller bearings within the compressor housing. The male rotor, driven by the motor, drives the female rotor. The compressor delivers vibration-free air. Injection oil is used for insulation, cooling, and lubrication purposes.
The compressor’s oil system operates by pushing the oil with air pressure. There is no oil pump in the system. Air within the oil is first separated through centrifugal force within the air/oil tank and then through an oil separation element. An oil level indicator is provided on the tank.
Regulation is achieved through a continuous regulation system within the compressor and an integrated unloading valve in the discharge device. The valve opens based on the pressure in the air receiver during operation. As air consumption increases, the pressure in the air receiver rises, and it decreases when the consumption decreases.
The cooling system consists of a water cooler for the motor and an oil cooler for the compressor unit. This system is driven by a fan coupled to the diesel engine. Cooling air is provided by a fan driven by the engine.
